BMW Proactive Care: AI-Driven Service Notifications

What Is BMW Proactive Care?
BMW Proactive Care is a new AI-driven technology that allows the vehicle to better anticipate required vehicle service and maintenance items and notify you proactively.
For many years, with customer permission, BMW vehicles have sent service-related data to the customer's preferred service center, enabling more productive interactions between the customer and the service advisors. Until now, though, customers have had to contact the service center themselves. With Proactive Care, BMW can reach out to you via a message in the My BMW app, an in-car notification, an email from your preferred service center, or a call from Roadside Assistance.
As of now, Proactive Care can now help with things like digital tire diagnosis, fault messages, and maintenance requirements. As the technology advances, it will be able to help with an even more comprehensive range of services, helping make BMW ownership as enjoyable as possible.
So, what does BMW Proactive Care mean for you?
Essentially, this technology helps take the guesswork out of when to service your vehicle or if there is an issue by notifying you proactively. Of course, our general advice is to still bring your BMW to our Service Center at least once a year or every 10,000 miles so our service team members can perform routine maintenance and check for any potential issues. Proactive Care will be working behind the scenes, though, keeping tabs on the status of your vehicle and notifying you when service is needed.
What BMW Models Have Proactive Care?
Proactive Care is available for all BMW models with BMW Operating System 7 or later (as of version 07/2019). Customers must have an active BMW ConnectedDrive contract and register their vehicle in the My BMW app or the My BMW portal on bmwusa.com with their BMW ID and store their contact details.
